On behalf of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to all participants of the 6th International Innovative Research and Industrial Dialogue 2026 (iIRID2026). This meaningful platform is jointly organized by the Faculty of Industrial and Manufacturing Technology and Engineering (FTKIP), the RICE UTeM–Melaka Collaboration Management Centre, and CoSSID (Centre of Smart Systems and Innovative Design).
This programme reflects UTeM’s continuous commitment to strengthening the integration between academia and industry. As a technical university, UTeM plays a strategic role in advancing research, innovation, and technological development that are relevant to industry and society.
iIRID2026 is aligned with UTeM’s Strategic Thrusts, particularly ST2 (RDICE) and ST4, in driving research excellence, innovation, and a dynamic collaborative ecosystem. The programme also supports the global agenda of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, emphasizing sustainable industrial growth and resilient technological advancement.
Through this platform, we aim to promote knowledge exchange, strengthen strategic partnerships, and enhance the translation of research into impactful and practical solutions.

As the host faculty, FTKIP is committed to advancing applied research and strengthening collaboration between academia and industry. iIRID2026 serves as a strategic platform to connect researchers, industry practitioners, and students to address real-world challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions.
This programme aligns with UTeM’s Strategic Thrusts, particularly ST2 (RDICE) in enhancing research, development, innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship, as well as ST4 in fostering a dynamic and inclusive ecosystem. In addition, iIRID 26 supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of resilient infrastructure, sustainable industrialization, and technological advancement.
Through this platform, participants are encouraged to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and build strategic partnerships that will drive impactful research and industrial relevance.

On behalf of the organizing committee, I am pleased to welcome all participants to the International Innovative Research and Industrial Dialogue 2026 (iIRID2026), hosted by the Faculty of Industrial and Manufacturing Technology and Engineering (FTKIP), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).
Building on the success of previous editions, iIRID2026 continues to serve as a dedicated platform for research dissemination, knowledge exchange, and university- industry collaboration. This year, the programme features hybrid and online presentations, as well as Forum@Dialogue sessions with industry experts, to enhance accessibility and practical engagement. The event is jointly organized by FTKIP, RICE, and CoSSID.
With the theme Bridging University and Industries through Research and Innovation, iIRID 26 brings together researchers, academicians, postgraduate students, and industry practitioners to share insights, address challenges, and explore collaborative solutions.
Aligned with UTeM’s strategic direction, this programme supports ST2 (RDICE) in advancing research towards innovation, commercialization, and real-world application, as well as ST4 in strengthening a dynamic and inclusive ecosystem. It also contributes to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, promoting sustainable industrial development and technological advancement.
Through this platform, we aim to strengthen the translation of research into practice and address industry-relevant challenges. Achieving meaningful impact requires not only strong research, but also effective collaboration and implementation.
